Some lcd monitor specs report "15-pin mini D-Sub."

Is this something different than the standard
analog 15-pin D-Sub?

Almost certainly not; technically, the family of connectors the
standard "VGA" belongs to IS the "mini-D."

I have to say "almost certainly" rather than "certainly" these days,
since someone HAS come up with a thing that looks like a
shrunken version of the VGA. But it's very, very uncommon.
