Hi there
I bought a 19" Samsung TFT monitor(19T2 or something), and tried
running some games/movies on it. However the motion blur was so
noticable and awful, I returned it to the store.
I would now like some opinions on the best 19" TFT screen, or any
other alternatives for gaming/movies. Preferable first-hand
observations - what monitor can I get thats TFT and 19" or above that
will show no signs of blur or any image artifact? How about the Eizo?
Thank you for reading this and for any advice you are able to offer.
Regards,

Currently any 19'' is not good for gaming.
I have found MVA better over Samsung PVA but not a big thing.
Eizo (I have a L767) and Nec use the same 192T Samsung panel.
LG just now are introducing the L1910P with 16ms MVA.
http://makeashorterlink.com/?R14451A85
....but a buyer in the german LCD forum www.prad.de say is very slow. :-\
This is due to MVA/PVA nature and until we don't see a 19'' with
<25ms Super-IPS panel (Nec say next year) or with speed improving
circuitry like Mitsubishi FFD............
games = headaches :-]

I am interested in knowing too. The Samsungs just suck.
BTW, did you try running in HD-15 over DVI? That should have marginally
imporved things. >> Stay informed about: Best 19" TFT Monitor for Gaming - Samsung was awful |

Samsung PVA panels "speed" can suck, but my Eizo
image quality is excellent.

mmmmh.... some model have small improvement with DVI connection...
but there is not solutions.
If LG really have 16ms 19'' S-IPS panel.......... this is the way to go.
www.prad.de say will have L1910P review, so they can solve the panel enigma.

Now there is L1910B with 16ms S-IPS.
So they put slow (P) MVA model for professional work
and fast (B) Super-IPS for business.
This sound very strange........ >> Stay informed about: Best 19" TFT Monitor for Gaming - Samsung was awful |

The 1910B only has 400:1 contrast. >> Stay informed about: Best 19" TFT Monitor for Gaming - Samsung was awful |

ONLY? And the problem with that is what, exactly?
(Follow-up question - do you believe that the higher the contrast
figure, the better, always? Or does there come a point where it
just doesn't matter any more?) >> Stay informed about: Best 19" TFT Monitor for Gaming - Samsung was awful |

Don't care so much about paper specs.
They pump contrast from 500 to 700 from
a day to another (like ViewSonic teach).
Usually S-IPS has deep black, better white
and larger viewing angle.
You can wait for professional or users
reviews to have more infos....

Only?, Only that my sweet ass, only expects more, only. My Trinitron only
has 800:1 minimum only, and it is not even the case that I can only barely
tell the difference between the Trinitron and a Samsung 1X1T, only. So you
see the only answer is simply that only I know what good constrast looks
like, from the only way you have phrased your only comments.

I am a true believer - I want to believe but there's no need to want, when I
am. So here we are. >> Stay informed about: Best 19" TFT Monitor for Gaming - Samsung was awful |

That'll probably be ages knowing the pace at which things progress with
TFTs. >> Stay informed about: Best 19" TFT Monitor for Gaming - Samsung was awful |

Sorry, I don't understand so much because my basic english..... :-\
Technologies to make very fast LCDs are here "now", but still to
much expensive I suppose.
If you want fast 19'' LCD you can have a choice.
Don't think 16ms S-IPS is only 9ms faster than 25ms MVA
because many people play games with 35ms S-IPS like
Nec 1880SX or Eizo L565. >> Stay informed about: Best 19" TFT Monitor for Gaming - Samsung was awful |

You need at least 20ms for gaming, many 19 inches won't give you that.
Frankly, even though I have an LCD monitor, I'm less than impressed
for gaming. Serious gaming. Multiple resolutions, aspect ratios,
etc. Just not easy to do on an LCD. 5:4 may be fine for surfing and
productivity, but it's less than ideal for gaming, scalability (no
other resolutions use 5:4), and video (all your movies will be
letterboxed). >> Stay informed about: Best 19" TFT Monitor for Gaming - Samsung was awful |

> You need at least 20ms for gaming, many 19 inches won't give you that.
Don't forget the technology adopted.
20ms MVA/PVA panel is not fast as 20ms TN/S-IPS.
Some people make: 1000 / 20 = 50fps
and this is another BIG error. :-\
LCDs have very different response time when
switch different colors.
25ms MVA can reach over 50ms with middle tones
(ex. red<>gray).

I don't know for aspect-ratio......
but modern games make heavy use of antialiasing so
interpolation blur at lower resolutions is not so evident.
