I have this firefold 2 port splitter (powered):
http://www.firefold.com/Products/1X2...2SPLITTER.aspx
I'm having the issue where basically, i have the pc lcd, which should
be a resolution of 1900x1200.. and then there is the hdtv which should
be 1920x1080 (1080i/p)...
The unit downgrades my PC LCD display to 1080 essentially.. which of
course isnt as sharp as 1200... the tv, you would think, would benefit
from this.. as it cant display above 1080.. but instead i end up with
this "overscan" issue, where the screen needs to be "shrunk" to fit..
which is a pain in the neck to fix. You have to use the nvidia control
panel and no it wont save to a profile either.
Is the issue with this splitter, that it doesnt store EDID display
info? Are there any powered splitters where i could have my LCD
running at 1900x1200 and my tv at 1920x1080 at the SAME time?
I cant find any 1x2 Switches that, i'm guessing, would definitely
work, at least none that are under $100, for $229, i might as well get
a sageHD box to do movies in the other room.. but this is also so i
can do some gaming on the big screen.
What other solutions would make this setup work.. anyone using one LCD
in one room and a tv in another (or the same room), fed off the same
video card.. in my case the HDTV is in the other room, so even using a
2nd video card or 2nd port are out.
Thanks in advance
