Hello guys,

After disasembling and recycling some pieces off my old and dead 20mb
Conrad Electronics HDD, I got my attention on the spindle motor which
makes the plates spin.

Now, I'm a total newbie on electronics... However I'd like to know how
can I make this motor run.. I'd like to use it to make a fan, and if
it goes well maybe I build a plane with it =)

By the way, I tried running it with the circuit board before I
dismantled it but, it just runs for 2 or 3 times and then stops...

Any help would be greatly appreciated

You have to ask in the electronics groups. It's a servo motor that requires a controller chip.
If you want to run it without load, a three-phase oscillator should work if you ramp up freq.

Because the logic decides that the drive isnt working properly.

There isnt any easy way to do what you are trying to do.
