I have heard from someone here that in the 2460 - you are only allowed 6
memory banks MAX.
I have MA LABS 256mb dimm modules that are double-sided.
Does that mean that I can only use 3 of these maximum?

Earlier this week i had all 4 of them in there and i had major problems -
including my computer going 'dead' --- it wouldnt power on until i removed
all 4 of the dimms.

BUT ALSO, when i had all 4 dimms in there - first i heard 4 beeps
immediately
upon power-up. then it froze, misread the system memory count, etc. and
finally wouldnt power up. AND I THOUGHT i smelled a slight 'burning'
smell. Could something have fried or been damaged?
how could i check this?

thank you very kindly for any input,
JDH

Check your ATX connector for signs of melting. It sounds like you've got one
of the bad boards. See Google groups or 2cpu.com for info on this
