Hi, over the time since I've had my dual K7 board, it seems to be
overheating on the chipset. A few friends have had the same problem on
different systems so I just improved their case air circulation and added a
chipset fan. BUT with the K7 board, I cant seem to find a chipset fan that
will fit. Theyre all too large!
Has anyone else had trouble with the chipset overheating on the tyan 2462ng
K7!? If so, what did you do about it?
Thanks for any help.

if your overall airflow is poor, surely that the chipset can overheat
because cpus heat sink are just aside shooting heat like wild.

if you can't find a small fan, just build yourself a duct with aluminum
sheet and tape. but increasing overall airflow can't be bad Wink

I have a small fan over mine, just for fun Wink

Thanks mate. I think you're right - my case is rather shitty. Rounded cables
might be the go and a new case perhaps :/ Still, I wanna get a chipset fan
also Very Happy Overkill is good.

be carefull with rounded cables... I bought a nice 7 connectors
SCSI cable for mine and it turned up be just 'crap'.
For SCSI I use only the cable supplied by TYAN, as they say in the manual.

I always go for monster Case Smile

I have been using rounded SCSI, IDE, and Floopy cables for just over a year
now and have not had any problems with my Thunder K7. I noticed that as soon
as I installed them the temp droped 3 degrees. Smile

I also fully agree with the monster case. I have a Li-Lian PC-75 and I love
it. Alot less noisy them my old Inwin Q500.

I've been using high-quality rounded SCSI, IDE and floppy cables for about a
year now with absolutely no problems. Air flow in the case increased,
bringing my temps down a few degrees. (And the inside of my case sure looks
better.)

I second the "monster case" recommendation... much easier to work in and
certainly helps with cooling.
