I have a Soyo KT-333 Ultra Dragon (black) with WinXP. The system is
unstable and always freezes up within 10 minutes of operation. But if
press the reset button and reboot the system is rock solid for rest of
the day.

Due to this problem, my daily routine is to boot up to Windows welcome
screen then press the reset button and reboot again to a rock solid system.

Is there a difference between an initial boot-up and sebsequent boot-ups
by the reset button?

What could be causing the instability of the first boot? And is there
any software I can run to see what the problem could be.

WinXP SP1
Soyo KT333 (black)
Samsung 512meg PC2700
Geforce3 Ti200

Any information is greatly appreciated!

Nick

It sounds like your bios is changing settings after the first boot so that
it can compensate for the configuration error it maybe in. Look at your bios
and use "default settings." See if it works. Then from there you can "supe"
it up.
XP sucks too. I have it too, but it sure is a piece of $#!T.
Thanks Microsoft for this wonderful swiss cheese security system!!

Try removing hardware one piece at a time to rule out compatability issues.
