I have the OCZ PC3500 Platinum Ltd Edition (w/bh5 modules), and I run
them at a modest 209 (418 dual channel), 1.9v.

From what I can find here in the Colonies, that's a good price. If
possible, get as much of a guarantee as you can. Right now, new in the
U.S. is £106.34 each for these.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

In fact, if I have the right part number, it's £249.33 at this merchant:

But what guarantee do we have you won't be back to rape, pillage, and
plunder?

If I was on your side I would prefer the rape detail. Pillaging and
plundering can be a lot of hard work, and not much fun!<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

P.S.

Didn't you invade back around 1963 or 1964 when you sent an invasion
force from Manchester?

And the last time I was in Grosse Britannia, the natives kept referring
to the "Colonies" when I told them where I was from. That was about '92
or '93.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

How much you can get out of your RAM depends on what your MB will allow you
to push it ... so the Crucial PC3200 running at faster speeds is not a one
to one comparison.
I have an ABIT NF7-S (REV2.0) and 2x512 PC3500EB and an AMD XP2700 and
running stable at 233 .. memory at 1.85V ... I think my MB/CPU is holding me
back. There is no guarantee with any MB or memory how fast you can go, each
are a wee bit different ... kind of like people .. some can run a lot
faster than others ...
OCZ Platinum PC3500 is very good memory for dual channel. I'd ask why they
are selling them and see if they have any burn marks on them.

Yawn.

Please God lets not start a thread of "I run X memory at Y speed".

The guy was asking about OCZ PC3500 Platinum Ltd Edition. WTF has Crucial
PC3200 got to do with that???!??!??!

OK. I have a Gigabyte motherboard, it came with some overclocking options, so
I couldn't resist tinkering out of curiosity. I'll probably put it all back
again. When I increased the memory from 214 to 215, it came out with 357 (dual)
instead of 428. Hence 214 was a better setting than 215. Maybe this was due
to the memory failing at 215, maybe it was due to the motherboard?<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

I supect some portion of the bios is still set to "auto" for
the memory rates, and it then reverted to async, -33MHz
_Clock_ rate. Whether your memory could handle the higher
rate is not revealed either way, the board should not be
determining the speed based upon "failing" anything, just an
automatic sort of thing. You might find that (if the bios
settings allow it) you can manually set the higher memory
rate to 215 (430), but of course you'll need to check the
stability, just as you already do with any memory
speed/timings change. Memtest86/memtest86+ are good first
tests to run prior to booting the OS.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
