Thanks for the suggestion. I haven't been able to play with the
little cube since I posted the question. I did briefly boot it up
today to transfer some files to it (it's both my back up and the
Photoshop machine). I *think* I noticed the BIOS telling me that
there is no cable plugged into the 2ndary IDE channel[after the memory
count--which means I only used one cable?-That would explain it], but
*in* the BIOS setup[hitting <del> during the count], it indicates that
I used the two different channels and the hdd is master on 1 and the
burner/dvd rom is master on 2. This weekend I'll be able to open it
up and look for sure(now I'm even more puzzled). Too bad the shielded
round cables haven't arrived yet. Will post the eventually solution.
Hope I don't do it with egg on my face!
