Unless you have some specific information that what you want to do needs
needs 4Gb of RAM buy a 1GB module and get started, but don't buy more
memory until you prove it's your bottleneck. Buy the memory 1GB at a
time. (be careful to add identical memory when you do this)
The little I know of video says that rendering is the slowest step and
it's CPU-bound. Unless the application you use is specifically written
to make use of more than one CPU you want the fastest single CPU
system you can afford, if you are on a budget.
Your best information will come from whatever forum supports
your application.
