Linux is already available in x86-64 versions. Windows XP x64 is
currently rumored to be released next month, April 2005. There are
already Beta versions of 64-bit programs available and more are in

when visual studio 2005 is released, many existing applications will be auto
ported

Windows CPU speed not matching other programs speed - i just put together an celeron d 335 system, the oem chip box states the speed as 2.8ghz, windows sees it as 2.8. the problem is, my bios thinks its 2.1 as well as most other programs, nero...etc.

Accurate speed readings from programs?? - I have noticed that many progs show some wacky results after changing the multiplier and FSB. I am running 8x400 now yet many progs read 3.6Ghz. In fact EVEREST and CPU-Z are two of the few that read correctly at 3.2Ghz. Have you all noticed this also...
