Archived from groups: alt>comp>periphs>mainboard>chaintech (more info?)

Ok, Everbody knows that the Chaintech 6JVD can take up to a 1.2ghz CPU
but the motherboard can not use a FC-PGA2 and the FC-PGA P3 highest
is 1000ghz socket 370 out there on the market, so to get 1.2GHZ you
will need to use a FC-PGA2 P3 socket 370.when i got this adapter the
instruction was well writen and to set the jumper was easy, this
adapter can be used for motherboard with VIA or Intel chipset, when i
inserted the adapter & CPU and hit the power switch BAM! it
booted but the BIO's reconized it as a P3 900MHZ and i went into the
BIO's and found out that it was only running at 100FSB so i turned it
off and check the jumper settings on the motherboard for the FSB and
it was set for auto but i went ahead and manualy set for 133FSB and
Booted back up again and Bingo!! This time the BIO's stated Intel
Pentium III 1200mgz (133 x 9.0 ), I also check if i was getting the
full L2 cache and sure enough I found it in the BIO's configuration
and I Enable it becuase it was disabled, Installed windows and also
ran the SISOFT and i was getting the full spec of the CPU Tualatin
processors 1.2ghz.
