Archived from groups: alt>comp>periphs>videocards>nvidia (more info?)

Just after I upgraded to this new video card, I get the following random
error and blue screen:

"PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA"

This happens at random, and not very often. I sometimes can go for hours
without seeing it. Other times, it will occur after 5 minutes.

Here is the actual error reported in the event log:

Error code 10000050, parameter1 f000e2db, parameter2 00000000,
parameter3 bf9f420f, parameter4 00000000.

Do you think I need to exchange the card, or is there something else I
could try first?

BTW, I am running XP Pro SP2. Video card is a NX7300GT-TD256EH.

Thanks in advance,

James

Installed USB drivers lately?

The error has numerous causes, one of which is the above. Another one is
Windows running out of space to expand its swap file. How much free disk
space do you have left?

Have you downloaded the latest driver from the Nvidia site? Old drivers
will definitely cause blue screens.
