I'm running an XP 2100 (1.73 Thoroughbred) on a 7aia5 with the newest bios
I can find - 7aia5217.BIN
Board still shows AMD 1500+ as the cpu.
Belarc advisor shows the same
frequency set as default under in bios.
How can I make the board correctly identify this cpu.
thanks;

I just flashed the same bios. I don't know what bios came with the
board but it said 'unknow processor 2100' (the 'n' at the end of
unknown was missing on the screen). That's with an XP 2400+. It now
shows AMD Athlon 2400+. When I change the Frequency settings in bios
the bios reports Athlon 2500+ and Athlon 2600+ as expected. There was
an earlier bios on Chaintech's USA site which mentioned the
Thoroughbred core but as a rule you should use the latest bios.
(Although on my Fostex VF16 Digital Audio Workstation I once had to
backtrack to a previous bios because the latest had a bug in it.)
This doesn't help does it.
