No practical experience, but I have a somewhat older system, with a 7600GT
card. The card has 2 x DVI-Out, and an S-VHS connector.
When I was running this computer with WinXP, I could select 'Clone' mode
in the NVidia properaties, and the card would dislay a 1024x768 section of
the main desktop on the TV. When playing videos, it would use the S-VHS
output.
I've installed Vista Ultimate on that system a while back (got a newer
computer, which still runs WinXP, but wanted to see how Vista did, so I
installed it on the older 'puter). I still haven't been able to enable the
Clone mode the way I could under WinXP. If/when I select clone mode, the
drivers seem to force me to set the desktop to the maximum resolution for
the S-VHS out interface (which is 1024x768). This looks a bit weird, to
say the least, on my 1680x1050 TFT monitor.
So perhaps you're running into the same problem. If you have the option
available, you could try it under WinXP, and see what happens? Perhaps a
Live-CD with WinXP on it or something?
Regards,
Patrick.
