Hi group,

I know this may not be the correct newsgroup to post this query, but I'm at
my wits end!

I bought an MSI TV@nywhere card, and after a few hours of IRQ hell managed
to get the thing installed without conflicts.
Loaded the supplied viewing software MSIPVS and ran through the setup. It
found all 5 normal analogue channels, and my "Sky tv" channel, the feed is
analogue from the rear of the sky box.
The problem is that there is no sound on the sky channel, just a constant
clicking noise.
The other problem is that the sound vanishes after 60-70 seconds on the
other channels, changing channels restores the sound, but still no sound
from channel 68 the sky channel.
My mainboard is a <cough> Soltek with onboard sound, AC97
Has anyone any ideas, I've searched google etc. no joy.

I can see me writing the 40 quid off, and buying another make of card, a
cheaper one.

TIA RevJim

Try downloading the new drivers for the TV@nywhere Master from MSI
http://www.msi.com.tw/program/support/driver/dvr/spt_dvr_ten.php?UID=193

As for sky do not use the analogue output. If you have a Grundig receiver
use the Svideo out to Svideo in on the TV card. Alternately use the
composite out if you do not have a Grundig and use the composite in on the
TV Card. With the SVideo or composite method you will need to use the audio
out from the recover and plug them into the Line-in on your sound card (NOT
TV CARD) and control the sound via the sound cards volume control panel.

Thanks for the info, my solution so far is to use the analogue for the
picture (isn't too bad) then I can use my Sky remote on the TV link
<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://tinyurl.com/3zdp" target="_blank">http://tinyurl.com/3zdp</a> and run another audio cable for the sound from the
rear of the sky box to line in on the soundcard. Another reason is that I
would need approx 20 metres of S-Video cable, and so might be a little too
long, causing crosstalk.

My only concern is that if I want to record something, it will only record
the picture.

Thanks

As long as you have the correct input (Line In??) set to record in the
Windows Audio panel you should get the audio and the picture.
