Hi JK
Thanks for replying. You have confirmed what I thought might happen. I shall
consider buying the CPU and new memory at the same time.
I have read that the 865PE chipset is fussy about the type of memory used.
The board is currently running a 2000MHz P4 at 400 FSB with two sticks of
PC2100 generic memory. I had three sticks to play with at the time I built
the system and one of them was rejected.
I can get generic or Corsair memory at a significantly higher cost.
What type of memory did you use on the system you built?
