Why is my 7900 GTO clocked faster than the 8800 ? - My 7900 GTO has a core clock of 650 mhz. The typical 8800 at NewEgg is clocked around 576 mhz. My card right now, as old as it is, still sells for over $200. The 8800 GTS is about $250 at CompUSA website. That tells me the 8800 will go under $200 after..
Next:  NF7-M - DVD drive won't run using DMA?

You are asking in the wrong Newgroup. Go to the Apple Newsgroups. This one
concerns PC's.
(Note: since you asked nicely, though, I'll answer here. I own both high
end PC's and Macs. You can ONLY use the Apple version of the 8800 GT, which
is specially produced for Apple by nVidia and uses an EFI based control, NOT
BIOS controlled like a PC's.) So you have to buy the card from Apple.

If its an Apple-made card, then yes. If not then no, it can't be fitted
to an Mac Pro. Apple in its incredible ignorance made the Mac Pro
requiring a gfx card with EFI firmware. This gives you the choice of
around 5 different gfx card - all made and sold by Apple. You can't use
generic gfx card in a Mac Pro.

Nope...you are limited to the 8800GT Apple as sold through the Apple store
for $100 more than any other 8800GT. Welcome to "It just works"
