I have an 8KHA+ motherboard with a 1400MHz Athlon and 256 PC2100 memory.

The AMD Website says that this motherboard will take an Atlon XP 2600+.

Could anyone who has done this, point me in the right direction to do the
same. Are there any jumpers to be set, and what must be done to the BIOS
settings.

This does seem to be a big jump in processor speed.

Cheers,

John

That sounds straightforward. I presume I set the 170 and 12.5 values in the
Frequency/Voltage page of the BIOS Set Up. Do you also adjust the voltages
or do you take the defaults.

Thanks for you help

John

What a fantastic world we live in. I needed some help, and I got it almost
instantly from someone in America, someone in France and someone in Greece.

Why on earth do we have wars.

Thanks everyone. I'll flash the latest BIOS and put in a 2400XP.

Cheers,

John

wow ! my XP1800+ crash at 150*11.5 and my RAM is PC2700. how can you use
such a high speed bus ? any tweak ? special BIOS ?
Can you give some precisions please ? such as voltage, BIOS version etc...
I hope my 8KHA+ will do the same Smile

Cheers

Its a TBred B core 0.13m and does 2125MHz on the 8KHA+ with 1.65V,yours
probably is a Palomino core 0.18m and the limit of Palomino cores is around
1750 for good ones and 1800MHz ofr very good ones with very good cooling.
