....after about 1.5 years of use. I don't know when those 3 caps started
bulging but noted it a couple of weeks ago when my box started coughing and
rebooting out of the blue. Here a link to the photo:

It's a 212KB download.

Sorry to hear/see this happen to you and your 8KHA+
I`ve been keeping a close eye on mine as well. So far so good.

I understand these leaking caps. are a result of an improper chemical mix in
a huge batch of caps. made for a bunch of different MB makers!

Click this link and find out how others Epox owners have had Epox repair
their board for minimum fee.

Thx, Matt, but no repair required - I gotta Gigabyte 7VT600P-RZ to replace
this board and, yes, there is a big difference in performance even
everything stayed the same except the mobo. My C: drive is a udma 6 and now
it can be utilised - the epox can ATA100 only.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

There is no real world difference between ATA/100 and ATA/133, as
ATA/100 ain't a bottleneck for harddrives yet....

One other thing: Most of the larger motherboard-manufacturers offers
three year warrenty. Don't know about EpoX, but would have guessed at
least two years...

Yes, responsiveness and loading times are much better - however, I am
comparing apples and lemons since my ol board is based on a KT-266A
chipset, the new is a KT600. Yes there is a difference

My Epox came with one year warranty - the new Gigabyte mobo comes with 3
years.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

I think the longer warranties are a response to the capacitor
problems. Also newer Epox boards use capacitors from respected
Japanese manufacturers like Sanyo. They were not affected by
the capacitor problem.
