Wondering if others have had problems with this board. Here's the problems
I've had:

I had trouble with the board shutting down and starting. When I'd attempt
to shut it down, the fans would start to spin up for a second, then spin
down . . . back and forth, cycling between starting up and shutting down.
After unplugging and plugging in the power cord MANY times, this problem
would/might stop and I could start my system again. Very weird.

Tested the power supply and swapped out ALL components (except offensive
mobo) and the problem persisted. Funny thing is, this would only occur when
I had the system pretty much loaded, as if there had to be a current draw
threshold for the problem to manifest. Again, I know it's not the PS or
limited available wattage (400W) 'cause I put together another system using
the same PS and that system was much more loaded (RAID, etc.).

Also, the serial ports refused to recognize ANY serial device, even though
Devise Manager indicated that the ports were present and functioning
correctly.

I sent for a new board. Guess we'll find out what happens.

Guess you swapped the power cord ?

Thanks for the reply! Great suggestion . . . we all tend to overlook the
most basic at times, the cord in question, however, works fine with my other
system and yes, I did use another cord.

I haven 8RDA+ which doesn't like to boot. Sometimes it hangs right around the
time it detects memory. I hit ctrl+alt+del and it will fire up after a couple of
tries. The reason this doesn't bother me too much is because I pretty much leave
my computer on 24/7, booting as little as possible, once per week maybe, and
this thing runs like a champ once it gets going. Very fast and stable. If it was
buggy once it got going, I for sure would have got a replacement. I've tried all
kinds of fixes and am currently using a big huge Antec power supply which is
extremely well thought of.

Try running the mobo out of the case. You might have something shorted.

Get you a bootable floppy disk and one stick of ram. Unplug
everything else but the floppy, the video card and one stick of ram.

If it still fails, then clear your cmos and swap ram and try again.
Else add stuff back one at a time.

.... that's two sticks of RAM - I would have gone for one, personally.

Thanks Jim. I've tried that and under these circumstances it's not really
helpful in determining the source of the problem. With another mobo
(8K5A3+) and all the same components loaded there is no problem. Only the
8rda3+ exhibits these symptoms and I've tried THREE of them. It's got to be
a board specific prob. Resetting BIOS, updating BIOS, etc. has no effect.
