| I currently have a Epox 8RDA3+ M/B that will not get past the FF post code
on the LED. Any ideas how to resolve or just scrap the board. Configuration
is Sempron 2800+ 1GB PC3200 DDR (512x2), Nvidia 5200 AGP video, WD 40 GB
HDD, DVD Rom, & CDRW.

FF is where it is supposed to end up after a successful boot. But I have
heard these can go directly to FF without any video coming up. I assume you
have the latter. Scrap the board? You give up too easy... and premature.
It could be the sempron has popped.
Take the board out of the case. With only cpu with hsf, one stick of ram
and video card hooked up, clear the cmos by setting the jumper and removing
the battery for 10 minutes. Then hook up the psu and start by momentarily
shorting the power switch pins on the motherboard.
If that does not work try the other ram stick. Still no go, try a known
good psu. Still no go, try a known good cpu. Check for bulging or leaking
capacitors on the motherboard.

I got another processor and still having problems. Not sure if the processor
was the problem or the board killed the processor. Epox Tech support RMA'd
the board to have a look see. Hopefully they can figure it out. Spend so
much time at work hardly have the time to mess with it myself. Besides the
local cpmputer shop said, "You might as well buy another board. I have
several that will fit the bill for you. How much are you looking to spend?"
Typical huh. LOL Should have known.
