Archived from groups: alt>comp>periphs>mainboard>gigabyte (more info?)

I have an odd driver problem. Everytime I turn on the PC or reboot
it, Windows XP "detects" SM Bus Controller" and fails to get any
driver installed. If I manually install Intel chipset driver, the
problem goes away (no yellow ? mark in Hardware) until I reboot.

I think I need something different to fix this. I can't remember how
I got this resolved the last time before I did a complete reformat and
install of XP Home.
