Hi

I've just finished upgrading my PC and now have an AMD3200 CPU and OCZ
1GB (2x512MB) PC3200 Dual Channel Platinum Series DDR CAS 2

The big problem is that I cannot get the PC to boot with FSB set to
200Mz. Is there any obvious reason why this setup won't work?

Any help much appreciated.

Dave

voltage..I am running my 2500 at 1.70 volts...you should be fully capable as
I am.

Thanks Dino, I have the latest BIOS (7, I think) and will set my
system up to your settings and let you know what happens.

Tried these settings, saved and exited and PC didn't reboot. Turned PC
off and reset to Default Settings and then tried again with your
settings. Then got Speech Post Reporter telling me "System fail memory
test" and wouldn't boot at all. PC got stuck and wouldn't reboot -
took out RAM modules. Cleared CMOS and put back my old Crucial PC2700
RAM with fsb at 166.

So is the expensive OCZ RAM at fault or is it my mobo?

Well, could be either.

Try 180MHz FSB with RAM in synch - see if that works, then try 190, then 185
or 195... you get the idea.

DDR voltage should be ok at 2.7V, I'm under the impression that OCZ like to
run their modules pretty close to the edge, which means lots of voltage - so
check with them what the DDR Reference voltage should be.

I just purchased some Crusial 3200.
I'm running the A7N 8X delux
ATI 9700 pro
Everything else nothing special.

When I put the 512 two chips, in.My system booted to 100mhz
I went to the Bios and upped it to 200 now it's running solid. It is now a
3200+
Can anyone explain why yours won't work and mine does with no changes other
than the 200mhz? I'm just interested in knowing that's all. TIA

You have a 333 mhz fsb cpu, not a 400!

AMD makes a 3200+ 333fsb?
Only ones I've seen are 400FSB type (200x11).

get memtest86 and test the memory..I RMA'd one module back last month. When
I had it in I could only achieve 175mhz...with the new one am at 200. Run
it..if any errors show either return your RAM to the store or contact
OCZ...also try one module at a time at 200FSB.
OCZ is real good about RMAs...if you contact them explain to them the
problem and that if any errors showed it was by memtest.
