Ok I just picked-up a Hitachi SATA 160 gig.
It came with nothing but the drive.........
Their web site says XPee comes with drivers.
When I unplug my other drives, plug in only the Hitachi, enable SATA with
the jumper, stick in my XPee Home full install disk, and power up, I lock up
on the DMI pool thingy. If I switch to boot from cdrom before SCSI or HDD0,
it'll start the XPee install and eventually gets to where it tells me I
don't have a hard drive available.
If I leave my other PATA drives plugged in and boot into windows, windows
device manager shows the drive as there but it isn't displayed in my drive
lists like "My Computer".
So what's Up??????????????
Do I need to find some drivers? and hit F6 on install?
Help Me Please!!
Thanks in advance,
Paul

Yes. You need to provide XP with drivers [for the Sil controller] using F6
during setup.

They're on the CD that came with the MB.
You'll need to copy them to a floppy for
use during setup.

Sorry Paul, I didn't respond very fast. And I had the impression that you
just wanted confirmation...as opposed to instruction. In any case, it
appears that you have the scent now.
