I experienced a failure to complete flash with version 130.
The ROM successfully erased then the system locked up before the new BIOS
program installed rendering the motherboard (SR7-8X) inoperable.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Does anyone know where can I get a programmed Flashrom chip to recover my
motherboard? (I have a nice clean blank one right now)

there are a number of sites on the web that will reflash your chip or send
along a new one... I use a Bios Savior just for that reason. I used
Flashmenu 1.31 without issue, and now 1.32 is out but I have not had the
opportunity to use that.

A follow up for anyone that experiences my plight:

I called ABIT Tech Support and he told me I could order a new BIOS chip from
their official parts re-seller <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.excaliberPC.com" target="_blank">www.excaliberPC.com</a> .
Their web site was down at the time so he gave me their phone number
510-353-1220.
I was able to order a fresh BIOS chip for my SR7-8X mobo for $16.99.
I added 3 day FEDEX shipping for $5.00

BTW I also found a custom BIOS seller. His web site is <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.biosman.com" target="_blank">www.biosman.com</a>
He walks you through determining your chip type and BIOS ROM image file
which he uses to program you a fresh chip.
He only charges a little more than excaliberPC, ~$3 more, for this custom
service which will work for any mobo with a removable BIOS chip.

In previous message stated can get a new BIOS chip from ABIT authorized
re-seller excaliberpc.com but their web site was not working.
This appears to be a DNS issue (for my ISP at least). So a work around is to
call up their IP address directly: <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://12.108.181.160" target="_blank">http://12.108.181.160</a>
Then click on "ABIT Gear" in the left column.
A menu icon field with a BIOS selection appears
Click on the BIOS icon and a list of all ABIT mobos appears (magically
comming to your rescue as you thought you were up the creek big time)

Do you have any idea why that would be?

I am not positive but I think that newer boards will work with flashmenu and
older boards will not. I know that Abit recommends one newer version of
awdflash to work with a specific set of newer boards while they recommend a
different version with a different subset of boards. that information is on
their web site in the utility download section.
