Archived from groups: comp>sys>ibm>pc>hardware>video (more info?)

Hello everyone.

I will be buying a new desktop PC in the near future, just wanted to
solicit opinions about video cards.

I have to buy the machine from one of the big vendors (for a number of
reasons), and as such am limited to their choices in video cards.

I'd like to do some analog video capture (old home videos, etc) and am
debating between the ATI Radeon 9800 and adding a TV capture device or
an ATI Radeon 9000 all in wonder card.

If I go with the ATI Radeon 9800 + TV capture, which TV capture device
should I go with.

The remainder of the system will be a P4 3.0GHz, 1GB RAM, 100+ GB Hard
Drive.

Thanks

Fur....

Consider the ATI All in Wonder 9800 Pro. I just got one and I have nothing
but good things to say. I'm typically an NVidia guy. But the ratings on
the ATI for gaming and such couldn't be ignored. It has a built in TV card
and an assortment of cables for S-Video in and out. If I had to find
something to complain about, it would be that it runs a bit hot. But I have
4 fans in my box.
