Group,
Does anyone have an opinion on Acronis imaging software?
I'm trying to "baremetal" restore a RAID 5 win2k server.I attempted this
with Ghost 7.5.All the way to the end it appeared to be successful.I could
"ghostwalk" the image,it restored seemingly fine, but I could not log on in
any way to the restored server. The only thing different hardware wise
were the three new identical make model hard drives I was restoring to.I'm
now experimenting with Acronis. It is very cool in the respect that you do
not have to boot to dos to take the image.Don't understand how it images
files in use, but it seems
to do just that.I can image and see all the files just fine.I have not yet
tried to restore to three new drives.Has anyone had any experience with
Acronis,or V2i?Will anything do what I want to do?i.e.restore a raid 5
array, adaptec hardware r5 to three new drives in the event 2 drives ever
fail.I'd be satisfied even to restore to the same drives, however I have no
safe way to test this obviously. Adysthemic.
