I would like to add a third hard rive to be used only for storage. This
would be setup as a second "slave" drive. My motherboard has 2 IDE
connectors on it. Both of these are used by Hard Drives (2) and CD-ROMs(2).
Ths motherboard has another IDE connector for RAID. Can I use this
connector for the third drive and is there anything I must change in the
BIOS? If this is not an option, will purchasing a PCI controller card
resolve this?

Thank you for your response and time.

Chris

Usually, but not always. Varys with the motherboard.

Again, that varys with the motherboard.

Yep. Tho it can make more sense to just replace one
of the current hard drives with a bigger one instead.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

You need to install RAID drivers, whether it is used in a RAID
configuration or not.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
