Hi there.
I have just installed this drive into an Asus cuw-rm mobo based system
running win98. It seemed to be fine, it is a master on teh
secondary IDE and the BIOS sees it on boot.
I open explorer and it sees both drives just fine, but when I put a
data disc into the new drive, it detevcts it as an audio disk with
about 21 tracks, about 2gig of data on it, but it (obviously) can't
play the music, or see the data.
In the system device manager, it lists the device as working, but
the name of the device is looking a little wrong, with funny
characters:
AxUx ? ? C?W-5?2'A? ? ? ?
Where the ? replace a character I can't type. so it seems x replaces
S, for example.
I don't know what to do to get it working, any hints on what to do
next greatly appreciated.
Regards,
googleboy
