The vendor we have been using to build our AMD systems that have always had
Asus mobos, ATI Video, and Seagate disks has switch to exclusive Intel, MSI
board and video, and WD disks. Sorry, but I have been having pretty good
luck for close to 10 years now and don't want to screw it up.

Thought I would call AMD and Asus for a system builder list of some sort in
the New England area but no luck there. Anyone here have a list.

My short list of local builders is: www.microseconds.net, in Salem, NH.

They will build anything you want, and stand behind their work. They've
built 2 AMDs and 1 Intel for us, and I'm a happy customer.

It sounds like you know what you want...just build it yourself.

I've done that at times. But I think you meant to reply to the OP, not me.

Yes, But where to find all the stuff.

I can get an Asus board in a lot of places, as well as an ATI card, but
where to get it all in one spot and I also need OEM versions of Office and
XP and can't get those legitimately without purchasing a system.

Try www.newegg.com
They have OEM versions in stock. I've had great luck with them but when
they're out of stock I go to www.tomshardware.com and find it at the same
and sometimes better price.

www.newegg.com

www.mwave.com

www.zipzoomfly.com

To name just 3. Newegg is probably the best overall (IMHO).

OSes are here. Don't know if the "buy with hardware" rule is still in
force, but I saw nothing mentioned. No disclaimer for XP as there is
with Vista.

Last time I hand-built a PC, I got 50% of the parts -- including the OEM
copy of XP -- from NewEgg; I've had very good luck with NewEgg over the
past several years. For RAM, Crucial has good parts and a helpful site.
