Asus - only a 1 year warranty now?

Since Asus is the one actually providing the warranty, they are the
ones I'd pay attention to. However, there may be a difference in the
retail warranty and the OEM warranty for the same model board.

The warranty for Asus motherboards is 3 years. Where it gets complicated
is where you go for warranty service if needed. The Asus website says
"Please contact your reseller" for repair. But I guarantee you, if you
contact Newegg after 1 year and ask for help in repairing your board,
they'll blow you off. Getting warranty service is very difficult.
Eventually you'll get the board repaired, but not after 50 emails and phone
calls where you'll receive conflicting and wrong information.

Saying all of this, if the motherboard works fine on the day you put your
system together, it will continue to do so until such time that you'll want
to upgrade to something newer. If failure does happen, it will be because
of a bad power supply or physical damage to the board from rough handling.
Either cause would void the warranty anyway.
