Hello,

I have an Athlon 1700+ and ECS K755A motherboard.

When it boots up the black screen and Sisoft Sandra say the chip is an
1100 Mhz cpu. Shouldn't it be 1700 or at least higher than 1100?

SiSoftware Sandra Bios info

SiSoftware Sandra

Any suggestions as to why this happening? How can I get the speed to

Thanks,

Tmuld.

1467MHz to be more precise.
133x11

Seems likely to me that your front side bus is set at 100MHz when it should
be set at 133MHz.
Change it (probably in the BIOS but it might be a jumper)

The ECS K7S5A has a problem with losing its bios settings, I had one in my
sons machine I thought it was the cmos battery at first but read about
people having the same problem. A bios update may help cut down the
frequency of it happening , but it still happens every so often. Mine was a
version 1.0 board

The best help for this mother board and any problems is:

<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.ocworkbench.com/ocwb/ultimatebb.php" target="_blank">http://www.ocworkbench.com/ocwb/ultimatebb.php</a>

under ECS

They also have a GREAT bios update that allows for many more tweaks and OC
settings.
I use the K7S5A with a 1600+ and I can clock it to a 1900+ with 150 fsb.
They have great FAQs and helpful people.

Your current problem is the bios has reset to 100 instead of 133.
