I'm trying to install a Linksys PCI Wireless G card into my system. The
problem is that as soon as I install it, the system won't power on.
Fans come up, but that's it. I've tried 2 different cards with the same
results.

Any thoughts????

I have that very card in a BE6-II without issue... are you sure your power
supply has enough ass for the tasks it is being asked to do?

Qed -

You'll recall in our recent conversation regarding Rubber Husbands and
Whittlin' a new Woodie that Mr. Geery is quite experienced with his PSU.

And he wasn't ashamed to have procured such an object and wasn't the least
bit timid about discussing it.

It seems to me that it's you, salacious as can be, who needs to make a big
deal about Tom's PSU having enough ass!

Shame on you. Now go wash out your mouth with soap.

Wink

Tom...

I've got a 300W power supply, so should have lots. I've pulled my NIC
card as well. Still won't come up.

I'm not intimate with my power supply, so I can't comment on it's ass!Smile

Hi John -

If it won't come back after removing the card, perhaps you've knocked
something else loose. Reseat your memory and other cards. Check your drive
connections.

Installing a new card often will "flex" the mobo, causing other things to
lose connection.

I'm glad to hear that you cannot illuminate the group regarding the degree
of ass that your PSU has. I was just asking about the power supply because
I have had a board refuse to power up and it turned out that the PSU was
clamping due to the fact that it was no longer up to the task...
