Is your 875P running with this memory:
<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproduct.asp?description=20-145-420" target="_blank">http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproduct.asp?description=20-145-420</a>

How do you like it? Did you have to do any special bios settings for
the memory to work? I am thinking about picking one of these up and
building a new system.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Rob

Why would you want to use that memory on the 875P Dragon 2? It is great
memory no doubt about that but if it was me building a new computer using
this board I would have to have Dual DDR memory for it. To take full
advantage of the memory features for the board.

Not sure what you are talking about? If you throw 2 or 4 sticks of
this in the MB that is as fast as the MB supports for memory. It is
running at 400Mhz. The way the "Dual" works is by matched pairs of
RAM, not some "special" Dual DDR Memory. Dual channel memory is a
feature on a motherboard, not the memory itself.

What did you think Dual DDR Memory was? It's hand picked matched pairs of
RAM and its not just 2 or 4 sticks of ram thrown in. They must also be put
it matched slots on the motherboard. If you just throw 2 sticks of ram into
the wronge two slots you would lose memory performance.

While it is true the modules need to be used in pairs and in the correct
slots for Duel Channel operation,it is not true the modules need to be
matched pairs. All that is required for Duel Channel mode is that the
modules be of the same brand, size, type, and CL rating. Duel Channel
operation is a function of board.

What an Idiot, What the hell do you think a matched pair is? It's two sticks
of memory of the same brand, size, type and CL ratings but they come in
pairs. To be sure you get just that it's best to buy the memory in matched
pairs at the same time. Because if you buy the sticks one at a time the size
and CL ratings may be the same but it's not guaranteed that the chips
themselves would be from the same manufacturer or out of the same batch and
that IS going to make a difference. Yes Dual Channel operation is a function
of the board but there is memory sold to take full advantage of this
function with additional features added for the memory to work together in
this function. By this I mean optimized SPD for Intel's 875/865 chipsets for
running dual channel memory. Hell go look at Corsairs web page or any other
high quality manufacturer, they sell memory in pairs for use on these
boards. Go look at Newegg for Corsair memory even they sell it this way.
Your acting here like I said something was wrong with your choice of memory
when I said it was good memory. All I ever said was you should buy it in the
matched pairs for optimum performance on the board.
