Suggest you test your memory for errors. Download memtest86
from <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.memtest86.com" target="_blank">http://www.memtest86.com</a> and run it for a few cycles.

the other day i wrote down a list of about 100,000 things that i had

actually now...i don't recall

i was really joking about the poor memory though...
my memory is excellent...i just keep forgetting that my memory is so good

Sounds like you're not even running EDO mem !! :-O Upgrade to pc3200 or
above asap ....
