I've noticed a lot of posts about POST beep codes and I thought I'd let
everyone know really what they mean:

First off, Gigabyte does not invent their own beep codes, the BIOS
determines them.

From what I understand, the Award BIOS is the only BIOS Gigabyte uses, so
those are the only ones I'll post here. Please note that the BIOS chip may
say "PhoenixBIOS" yet have an Award BIOS installed on it (dunno why, mine
says that, on both of my GA-8SQ800):

It's very simple:

One long beep followed by two short beeps or One long beep followed by three
short beeps (the first is more common):
Video card problem. First check to see if it's installed properly. Then,
try moving it to another computer. If it works there, it's probably your
AGP/PCI port that's causing the problem. If it doesn't work in another
computer, your video card's probably dead.

Anything else:
CPU or RAM problem.

It's that simple because Award tries to display error messages to the screen
whenever possible. These are the only cases (hopefully) when display to the
screen won't be possible. At least they made it simple for us!

You obviously need to understand a lot more so this could be a good
starting point:
<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.bioscentral.com/beepcodes/awardbeep.htm" target="_blank">http://www.bioscentral.com/beepcodes/awardbeep.htm</a>
Or, straight from the horses mouth:
<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.phoenix.com/en/customer+services/bios/awardbios/award+error+codes.htm" target="_blank">http://www.phoenix.com/en/customer+services/bios/awardbios/award+error+codes.htm</a>
<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.phoenix.com/en/customer+services/bios/bios+faq/" target="_blank">http://www.phoenix.com/en/customer+services/bios/bios+faq/</a>

Phoenix and Award merge:
