Try setting all your memory timing to less agressive..
Try clearing your CMOS with the jumper while the unit is unplugged.
If I experiment with setting my memory timings to more agressive settings, I
sometimes have to remove my slower memory stick to even get into the BIOS to
change the timings back. (Blank screen until I remove the slower memory
stick. This prevents getting into the BIOS or anything else.) I suppose I
could've 'cleared' the CMOS and accomplished the same thing.
I have read that pressing the PageUp key during the attempted boot up will
set a default setting for the cpu setting.

Attempted this, but no joy. Also disconnected most devices, and
swapped memory.

Should I be able to disconnect *EVERY* device from the MOBO, except
video, and get a boot/BIOS screen?

What are other likely causes?
And how can I determine if board is toasted?

TIA

Sounds like the problem I had last night. Mobo was grounding out against
the case. Try removing it from the case and see if you can get it to boot
that way.

You need only MB, Processor (with Heatsink & Fan), Memory, Video,
Keyboard and Power. It's also nice to have the Front Panel Speaker
connected so you can hear error beep codes. If you set this up outside
the case, so you're sure nothing is shorting, you rule out all sorts
of possible problems. If this doesn't work, you have a limited number
of things to try to diagnose.
