IBM Clone, XP Home, cdrom drive has pwr but cannot access through start run or autoplay on various cd's. NEW CDROM drive installed on IDE 2, jumpered as master, boot to BIOS, drive is detected, BOOT as normal and the pc takes 5 minutes to arrive at desktop, Windows does shoe that new hardware found and at this point the pc is frozen. I tried configuring through IDE1 as a slave, same problem. Unplug cable/pwr and reboot and Machine boots normal and @ desktop in 40 seconds. Any help would be appreciated.
