I want to upgrade my K75SA rev 1 to the fastest CPU available.
According to the specs it has a maximum bus speed of 133Mhz. What is
the fastest CPU, Sempron or Athlon can I fit in it.

Will those labelled 266Mhz FSB work with it?

if you live in the us, this site has a good selection of 266fsb xp cpus at a reasonable price. i'd go with the mobiles.

anything with a 266fsb will work best. you make a lot of work for yourself if you try to run a 333fsb.

you may want to upgrade your bios.

The 133MHz is the FSB speed. Processors that are rated at 266MHz actually run on
a 133MHz FSB, so yes, they will work.

I ran a mobile athlon 2500+ with 2 x 512 MB DDR-333 from kingston

Fast and stable

As far as I can see, the Athlon 2500+ is unlocked up to 13.5x so 13.5 x
133 = 1800 mhz core but since it has 512kb of l2 cache, it lives up to
the 2500+ rating.

With an overclocking bios, you can go to 137mhz, 143mhz and 147 mhz

If I use a CPU rated at 333MHz will it be able to reduce its speed to
match the motherboard?

I have seen some of the CPUs described as mobile chips or XP-M, will
they also work?

yes a mobil will work fine. the problem with using a cpu with a 166/333 fsb is the lower multiplier. those processors will run slower on a 133/266 fsb k7s5a.

all are rated 2600 but the last two will run much slower with your board.

AXDA2600DKV3C Multiplier=16x 133/266 2.13Ghz

AXDA2600DKV4D Multiplier=11.5x 166/333FSB 1.91Ghz at 133/266 = 1.530 (xp1500)

SDA2600DUT3D multipier=11x 166/333fsb 1.833GHz at 133/266 = 1.460 (xp1400)
