Hello,

I am getting more and more interesting in UFO videos and especially trying
to capture UFO stuff myself =D

Even if it are planes or other natural phenomenon sounds like lots of fun !

So I might be interested in purchasing:

1. A camera which can record video at day at night !

2. A camera with enough storage capacity to video tape the whole day ! (Me
thinks harddisk could be enough ? or maybe not Wink)

Let's see 24 hours * 60 minutes * 60 seconds * 30 frames per second * 1 MB
(hi res frames) = 2.4 Terrabyte.

So maybe not tape a few hours, maybe a bit higher compression, maybe lower
from rate and it should be doable with a 1 Terrabyte harddisk, which exists
today Wink I do want high quality images if possible Wink Tired of seeing blurry
ufo videos =D Even blurry still interesting though... Just wanna see
something better and more detailed lol.

3. Video processing software to automatically scan the video material for
any interesting footage.

Now that I think of the blurry images here is further enhancements:

4. Auto rotate and zoom in functionality.

5. Super lens to zoom in real close with auto focus and tracking
capabilities.

Maximum cost:

1000 euro's but then it has to be REAAALLLY GOOD STUFF.

Cause 1000 bucks is a lot to spent on nonsense or nothing Wink

But just in case a spectacular ufo does fly by I want to have it LOL.

I have already seen enough interesting things fly by Wink

Bye,
Skybuck =DDDDDDDD

Could be interesting for that newsgroup as well Wink

Two Questions to ufo spotters in this newsgroup:

1. Do you have any special ufo spotting devices ?

2. Or do you know something about such equipment ? Wink =D

Bye,
Skybuck.

I think you'd do a lot more good spending that money on a system

Why spend money on that ? He can run that if that's his bag, at off times
when he is not using the computer.
If he were to buy a cam. He could use it for other things as well.

The seti project is a waste of time. IMHO! Like if they were to have heard
anything, they would have by now.

IMO we wouldn't have heard anything by now. Universe is several
billion years old, and milky way a little more than half that. That's
a lot of time for life form to develop intelligence and travel beyond
the stars.

On Earth we have been looking in space with computers and radars for
what? 60 or 70 years? Most of the neighboring stars are not likely
to have life forms and if the planets further out did pick it up and
responded on the same radio, it'd still be decades before the answer
gets back to us.

Big ass space, primative & slow communication, no known means of
communicating faster than light speed, and very short time in space
exploration doesn't mean we can claim we're the only intelligent life
form in the whole damn space. We need more time or find a faster than
light speed method for communications.

Post subject: Calling all japanese toy makers ! ;) UFO Spotting Toy ! |D [Login to view extended thread Info.]
Archived from groups: alt>comp>periphs>dcameras, others (more info?)

Hello, Hello, Hello.

I was would be nice to start with a

"UFO Spotting Toy" for 50 bucks !.

Make a nice little robot which can rotate, with webcam inside, and maybe
some special software or hardware to automatically turn and zoom in and out
of anything that's interesting.

People should be able to set it in their backyard, or on their balkony or
even before the window/glass.

Also try not to get distracted by little bugs flying in front of the
camera... that can give blurry pictures.

I think could be mega hit for all people.

HAHA ! Wink

I want one ! Razz*

The best shots should be kept in the toy... on a flash stick so that it can
later be downloaded via flash reader.. or possible usb connector and flash
reader in toy... but that would make it more expensive Wink

Good place to start is cheaply Wink

Bye,
Skybuck.

Man Takes Videos of Flying Triangles, "V" Shaped Objects, & Egg Shaped
Objects Using High Tech. Thermal Imaging Camera.

http://www.ufosnw.com/sighting_reports/2006/thermoimagedev/trisept162005new.wmv

Description (As Described by Photographer): I have some very interesting
UFO videos on DVD taken with unique thermal imaging camera system. The
video was made using a 760 thermal imaging camera. This is a rare and
expensive camera that has a broad range of temperature sensing. The
videos were made with settings spanning in the -60 to -5 degrees
Fahrenheit range, as indicated in the 760 data logger bar in the lower
part of the screen of the video. The camera does not detect visible
photons; it only reads very long wavelength invisible photons,
regardless of day or night viewing. The DVD recorder used to record the
video data is simply a $200 consumer unit.

One of my hobbies is astrophotography and I'm also a member of a local
astronomical group. I also have an infrared night vision monocular. I
was initially disappointed with using this thermal camera because it
could not resolve stars or other celestial object of interest other than
a minimal detection of the moon's surface. (This is due to our
atmosphere and space isolating heat transfer from very distant objects
to the camera imager.) Soon, a commercial jet flew overhead and the
camera resolved detail and heat with no problems. I set up the DVD
recorder to capture heat trails of aircraft and also hoped to capture
any meteors. Within minutes of using this camera, I recorded two very
low surface temperature (-30 degree) flying objects. One object looked
like a "boomerang" and the other like a "wing". Both were invisible to
the infrared night vision monocular and both were silent in operation.
They also moved very slow. About 30 minutes later the "boomerang" was
recorded again. The following nights I've recorded a flying "V" object
several times (see one of video footages above). The thermal imaging
device shows that the "V" objects have a very low temperature and no
audible propulsion. I also recorded something that looks like a "long
cigar" that changes shape. There are dozens of recordings of a higher
temperature flying "cylinders". These cylinders will "quantum leap" in
speed at what appears to be random. The videos are not a hoax, they are
genuine. I also took footage of two rising egg shaped objects (see above).

******************************************************************************

The last photo shows the whole installation for making those
recordings.

That's just incredible.
Medical science might be his salvation after all!
I'll let the persons who are going to help him know about this possibility.

Best regards,
Marcel
-- Martin, this was actually very interesting to read. Medical science is
just in it's first footsteps.

there was another one (on physorg or eurekalert, sites well worth
looking at, between coffee 1 and coffee 2 in the morning) about giving
people with "brain death" tranquilisers, that made then concious,
complex huh! ....

Name-calling is not a scientific discussion.

OK. But I'd suggest the direct approach will be more fruitful. By that
I mean just pointing a camera at the sky like a security cam is not
likely to get decent results. It's a BIG sky out there.

I suggest instead the approach of FIRST obtaining a nice portable
astronomical telescope that can be dragged into the field and quickly
set up. A low power sighting scope attached to it is very useful for
homing in on "suspicious" objects.

Note that most "UFOs" simply appear as "stars" or "lights" in the sky.
chances of seeing some 50 foot wide disk flying over your car are
close to nil. This leads to the SECOND important item. A star chart
and astronomical knowledge of stars in the sky. You NEED to know if
that funny bright light is "Venus", a bright star in a common
constellation, or something which DOES NOT belong in the star chart.
You need to learn what belongs up there!

And lastly you need to try to get some information and try to travel
to where the action is. UFO activity often occurs in "waves" and your
chances of finding something will be much greater if you drive to "hot
spots" of current sightings as reported in newspapers and the like. A
camera out your bedroom window just isn't going to do it even if it
runs 24 hours a day. To get data an EFFORT needs to be made here!

Again I reiterate a telescope is ESSENTIAL. I'd try to set up a nice
astronomical telescope (there are many inexpensive toys out there that
work quite nicely) with an attached camera for recording the objects
you spot. Have a nice low powered sighting scope you use to aim the
camera telescope. Trying to aim a high powered astronomical telescope
at some light in the sky in a hurry is pretty darn difficult.

Then analyze your data. Usually you see some bright lights moving
around in the sky you SURE are UFOs. Well, they ARE "ufos" because you
don't know what they are! But if you look through a telescope or at
the pictures taken through same, you find that aircraft landing lights
or other lights are easily seen with magnification. A red and green
pair of lights (wing lights) are a give away that the object is
ordinary aircraft of some kind.

And always be aware that there are SERIOUS efforts by governments to
discredit all interest in UFOs. (note ridicule and name-calling
already present here) UFO groups are heavily infiltrated and
neutralized. Decent pictures given to authorities will disappear.
Always keep secret copies. So keep a low profile and be careful out
there.
