I need to monitor an area and have the camera snap every X mins. I'd
want pretty good resolution. Ideal location would put the camera
about 30 yards from where it would be monitoring. Again, if we are
talking ideal, then wireless.

I looked through the exisiting posts but most seemed to be dealing
with cameras mounting to pc. Thanks.

A well known internet auction site often has electronic shutter release
systems that have a timer function - this will depend on having a a camera
that has a cable release socket, but with this you should be OK so long as
your battery lasts and you can stop your camera going into power save mode.
