I second that. The A70 will with 2100 (or higher) mAh NiMH
rechargables go on for days - I usually get 120-180 shots with my A60
(LCD on - 2-3 times that if it's off)!
....and the pictures are nice too - they might need some thouching-up
(i.e. USM in the digital darkroom) before sending them off to be
printed thou.
The manual modes are very useful and CF is available in large sizes
and different speeds at not-to-bad prices. In my experience cheap CF
uses more batteries so you might want not to skimp there.
It could be a bit on the heavy side with its 1/3 kilo fully loaded,
but the weight is in the grip so the balance is quite good. A Sony
digicam (4 megapixels w/zoom) I tested once for my boss felt much
lighter and the different shape could be more pocket-friendly, but the
non-CF options are too expensive IMO.
For second (and third) opinion(s): locate the digicam in the cameras
