Hi All

If anyone has an EX series Canon flash - Can they please let me know what
the Switch that can select a green dot or Flash symbol and 'H' does ?

My 2nd hand 380EX didn't come with a manual.

Many thanks - and Happy New Year Smile

The H setting is for High-speed Flash - with a compatible camera, it
allows you to use a higher shutter speed than the normal synch speed of
the camera (probably 1/125 or maybe 1/200 second). However, because it's
outputting a longer burst of light to compensate for the fact that the
shutter isn't fully open at any point during the exposure (unlike at or
below synch speed) the flash range is reduced, by a greater amount the
higher the shutter speed used.

The Green Dot is the Normal setting.

You're welcome, and the same to you - especially as it's nearly there
now.

As I'm using a G5 - I'll leave it on the green dot then.

Thanks, and welcome to 2004 in the UK anyway Smile

Mark.
