I have the following two computers. On the Dell, the monitor blanks out
for a second or two when logging on, and intermittently during use. On
the HP, I can’t run Chessmaster 3D chess with the current card. I tried
putting the GeForce 4 MX in the HP computer and it worked great. No
display blanking. Chessmaster ran fine. So I'm thinking about getting a
new card for the Dell and moving the GeForce to the HP.
Advice on best card under $60 for the Dell? Here’s four at the bottom of
this post I found. Do you think the 256 MB RAM on the one from Amazon
will make any difference on the Dell? On the other end of the spectrum,
will the $35 dollar one from buy.com do just as well as the rest on my
Dell?
Do you think the screen blanking on the Dell has to do with the graphics
card? I think it started happening a few weeks after I put in the card.
The original card died.
Thanks in advance
Paul S.
