The demo played very fast and smooth. Same settings and
the retail game plays extremely slow, and
guessing 10/60 fps for retail/demo. Can anyone
explain the vast difference considering identical
settings? How can I make the retail game play fast
as the demo?

Jeff

Try setting the shader model to 2.0 mode instead of 2.0++

That's it! The demo defaulted to 2.0,
the retail 2.0++. The retail now run super smooth,
thanks a million...

er... what video card ?

Try an alternate advanced video setting. The demo may have been set
differently. Chronicles has one of the most comprehensive choices of
video settings that I have seen in a PC game. Very impressive--
considering that it is a console-port and the additional graphics
flexibility meant a lot of extra programming/testing work. A quality
conversion to the PC, with the extra levels, secrets etc...
