Okay, I am buildin a computer (Duh). Here is what I have so far:
Ultra Wizard Black ATX Mid-Tower Case
Asus A8N-SLI NVIDIA Socket 939 ATX Motherboard
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Socket 939 OEM Processor
Maxtor 160GB 7200RPM SATA-150 OEM Hard Drive
Ultra X-Finity 500-Watt SLI Ready Power Supply
Ultra 512MB PC3200 DDR 400MHz Memory
Masscool AMD K8 Cooler Fan
BFG Geforce 7800 GPU
What else do I need? (besides keyboard, monitor)
With this mobo, do I need a network card? I am thinking about buying a
wireless network card...
What is a good sound card?
Any other things that would be good?
Thanks,
TheFinkel >> Stay informed about: What Now With My Comp? |

Unless you are really into sound recording, the onboard sound is
likely good enough. Most modern boards have a network interface, so
you probably don't need any of those either unless you want to go
wireless. Now you need to put it together and see if that power
supply does what it is supposed to. >> Stay informed about: What Now With My Comp? |

All looks good, except that you need another gig or so of RAM, and a DVD
burner would be very helpful. -Dave >> Stay informed about: What Now With My Comp? |

I must be. I can't really tell much difference. Creative couldn't
write a set of drivers to save their lives either. I'd like a second
sound card for certain apps, but it sure won't be an sb after the fun
I had with my live card. >> Stay informed about: What Now With My Comp? |

If you want wireless you will need to get another network card. If you
want to be sure Vista will work (whenever it comes out) you should put
another gig or so of RAM in there. I have had so-so experiences with
Maxtor drives. >> Stay informed about: What Now With My Comp? |

I don't see any type of optical drive listed. How are you going to
install stuff like the operating system for example? >> Stay informed about: What Now With My Comp? |

At least another 512M ram and if you want to use High speed internet you'll
need a network card. >> Stay informed about: What Now With My Comp? |
