Post subject: Connect NVIDIA GE Force 7300 graphic card to Philips HDTV
Archived from groups: alt>comp>periphs>videocards>nvidia (more info?)

Hi group members,
I would like to connect our PC with the NVIDIA GE Force 7300 LE card
to our Philips HDTV.
I have just recently bought a USB Wand TV Stick which works fine so
we could "tape" programs on the PC and watch them on the TV if this
connection would work.

The Philips TV manual explains 2 ways to connect a PC to the TV:
1- DVI to HDMI Cable which works fine with the picture.
Because PC and TV are in different rooms I cannot see the mouse and
play/pause/stop any records or DVD's when the TV is connected. (To
connect the TV I have to disconnect the PC monitor)

The second way the TV could be connected is through a
VGA to RGB HV cable.
I don't have one of these cable atm. they are hard to get in Australia
but I would buy one through the internet.
Just want to make sure it works before.

I have connected a spare monitor to theVGA socket of the NVIDIA card
(while my main monitor is on the DVI port)
but it didn't work. So I have my doubts if the TV could be connected
in that way.

The thing is that I would like to have both PC monitor and TV
connected at the same time so I can select the menues on the PC
monitor and watch things on the TV screen.

If you have any suggestions or ideas I really appreciate your advice.
Thanks in advance
Gabi
