Hello,

Do you known if we can dream using a Core 2 Duo on an Intel 945/955
motherboard not designed for Core 2 ?
(example : GA-8I945P Pro)

Voltage specification are not exactly the same , but we can just give more
power to the core 2 duo (like overclocker),no?

I haven't read a single account, of someone trying a Core2 in
an older motherboard. You can be the first.

In the Northwood/Prescott generation, there was a single pin on
the Prescott, that checked that the right kind of motherboard
was being used. Have you checked the various generations of
LGA775 pinout, for differences ? Perhaps there is a pinout
different. There might be more than a VRM/VRD spec change.

When a motherboard costs $67, like the following one, why waste
time on an older motherboard ?

GA-G31M-S2L LGA 775 Intel G31 Micro ATX $67
