I've been asked to source a USB cable for a camera to replace one that has
been lost.

The camera is a Praktica DCZ 3.2S.

I expected this to be simple; just a standard USB A to mini USB.

But the USB connector on the camera is smaller than a mini USB; narrower and
rectangular. Not like the trapezoidal shape of the mini USB.

I can't find any reference to this type of USB connector, let alone a source
for a suitable cable.

Does anyone recognise this description?

Nick

There are at least 3 different versions of mini B that I've seen. One
is commonly used on Sony product and is long rectangle shaped with
flared side, probably the trapezoid shape you refered to. Another do
look like standard B but much smaller, and third is similiar to the
second but flatter and has 2 ridges.

I've seen adapters at Walmart that has all those ends you plug into
the enclosed USB cable to make them plug into almost any USB devices.
You might want to check them out and see if they have the right end
for your camera.

We don't have Walmart here in the UK, but I'll start looking for adapter
kits.

Many thanks for the useful suggestion.

This is a good list of USB cables and connectors for digital cameras. I
don't know about in the UK.

Thank you Carl. I've emailed RAM Electronics to see if they can help.
